Why do people dislike windows Vista so much?

I have it, and I have never had any issues with it.

What is your favorite OS and why? Please try to convince me to switch.

The main reason people dont like vista is because it doesnt support any old OS drivers Besides it needs extra Cpu usage during gaming or hardly dealing with graphics.

If u are happy with it and have no problems with it then dont switch but if u want to there are two categories:

1. Low duty OS (Desk work): i recommend u switch to the MAC OS

2.Hard duty OS (Gaming-graphics editing): i recommend THE one and only XP service pack 2

Vista is slower than Xp even if you have to same hardware.  I have a p4 3 ghz with 2 gb RAM 750gb HD, and it takes me like 2 min to boot up compared to Xp where it takes me 30sec.

because windows vista is unstable and there will be a new one by microsoft with code name Windows 7 .

As for favorite OS. Get Linux Ubuntu 7.10 Gusty. It rocks and stable and with millions of applications and incredible visual effects . My 2nd favorite OS is for sure WinXp.

So far the only issue with it I've had was that it overrode my 9800GX2 with a Microsoft Graphics Adapter. I had to do a system restore. Other then that it's been really smooth and I like the new features.

I use it and it's great!  People who hate it have PC's that are lacking in memory, processing power and graphics power.

i have vista and i luv it its super fast and i don't hav problems with it!!! idk y people don;t like it!!! but yeah its great don't switch

Okay, it may for you because you have a new high tech computer. Also, vista screwed up my desktop in my room so I'm switching to mac in a few months because mac has better quality and stuff. Also, vista is slow as c**p it sucks and xp is better. I'm glad my local desktop has xp not vista. I want to get vista off my laptop before it screws up my laptop. Well I really don't care for that.

Mac is more high tech and not as slow as vista.

Also, vista can't hold much software,data,and virus scanners. so it'll start to s***w up your computer.

So enjoy your computer while it lasts because soon it'll be screwed up.

Because some people just don't like change in anything.

We saw is when XP took over windows 2000.

It may be slightly slower but Vista makes up for this by giving users a more protection. It also has slightly more involved programs.

Other than that it is very similar to XP so i don't know either why people hate it so much. I work in an electrical store and people are constantly complaining and I ask what the problem is with Vista and they honestly don't know.

I think VIsta just got a bad rep when it first came out. I use to hate it but now i use it on all of my machines. about the slow booting i have no prob either, mine boots in under 15. I have a e8400 @ 3.6, 2 gigs of DDR2 and an HD4850.

I just think people dont like the change, it has many new features that were implemented wrong too. But after some tweaks its a very secure OS. I have no viruses that i know of, compare to xp which was like virus heaven after just going to google! lol. So really i think alot of people need to take a new look at Vista.

Oh but i dont use SP1, it broke my wireless >.>

i have all of the updates until that lol
