  1. People just do stuff, good, bad and indifferent. They know jail is out there but don't think it will get them.  Most criminals are young, immature and very much in the moment. Many are risk takers, have very high self esteem, criminogenic mind sets and substance abusers.  And most will grow out of it.  Personally, I think we put too many people in jail and have too many laws.

  2. because they're emotionally stupid, uneducated (typically), self-centered, have no impulse control and often come from seriously dysfunctional homes.  a lot of people actually don't know right from wrong because they were never taught.  we get our moral compass at home and if it's lacking there, it takes extraordinary effort and struggle to undo the bad learnings and replace them with the right ones.

  3. The average criminal does not think he will be caught. Therefore, jail is not a deterrent.

  4. Surprise! Not everyone in society is nice, nor do they care about what's right or what the law says.  It's all about them and what they want, and nobody is going to tell them what to do ... unless of course a cop tells them to put their hands behind their back.

  5. Boy that question could fill a book. But often times repeat offenders come from homes where parents are criminals/alcoholic/addicts or all of the above.

Sometimes in some states the punishment  is not harsh enough to change a persons behavior and they do it again for the money.

Other time the offender themselves are addicts and do crimes to get the money or make the drugs. Here in Missouri we have a high rate of methamphetamine addicts that are arrested over and over for purchasing or manufac, drugs.

In my opinion we as a society need to make the prisons hard enough to fit the crime, and not make it a country club and a chance to sit around doing nothing.

  6. Human Nature ........Circumstances beyond their control .........Drugs ..Alcohol

Take your pick there are many reasons....

  7. Some people get desperate for money, so they rob others. Some people are born in a bad family, or are sexually abused, so they might become rapists. Some people do it by accident, like kill another. There are a lot of factors involved. Peer pressure or wanting to belong to a group or gang. Like I siad, many possibilites.

  8. Because we are human.  Since the beginning (Cain and Abel), man has hurt fellow man.  Its just human nature.  Sometimes we let our emotions get the best of us and act out.  Most of us are able to control our urge to beat, attack, or kill someone.  Those who don't are dealt with the best way we know how-the criminal justice system.  Here in the US some say its the best in the world.  After all, you are innocent until proven, you have a bunch of rights, etc..  Some countries, like China, kill you and you are presumed GUILTY until you can say otherwise.

  9. You gotta remember it ain't their fault...its mommy's fault, daddy's fault, george bush's fault, society's fault, the victim's fault, the cop's fault, their friend's fault, the govt's fault...that they did whatever crime they were convicted of.

Simply put; criminal scum don't care. They don't care about the effect on their victim or about the possible consequences.

  10. There are many reasons. That's why there are college programs that specialize in criminology. A good background in either psychology and or sociology will provide many answers.

  11. me, my bro n my buddies get chased by the cops. we went 2 loads of push hotels n restaurants n did runners vry time n got caught n we got sent 2 jail. we just did it 4 the thrill rlly. in jail, the uniform sucks n the food tastes ****. but when ur doin time in jail with ur bro n awesum buddies it makes it easier n it was like male bondin rlly. we got out a few weeks ago to celebrate my 24th bday. we share a flat n love havin no responsibilities n the thrill of bein lovable rogues n gettin chased by the cops, so we might b back.
