Why do people drive right up my *** and other people?

Question

When I drive, if it is 60 km's an hour I go 60, so why do people drive so close behind me instead of overtaking...?? If I have to break all of a sudden they will prob hit me.....and when it is 50km's an hour I go 50 but people go right up behind me....they are almost touching my car....

Ppl do this because first there dumb 2nd they do it because they want u want u to go faster but they won't pass u because they r to scared. Pritty dumb right they be real scared when u slam  on your brakes. What I do when ppl ride my bumper I just let off the gas n cost untill I hit about 25 or 30 drive that way for a while then go back to speed if they do it again I slow down to 20 n repeat the process try it . It works beleive me!

I agree with everybody, it is very stupid and back when I was younger and with my family someone rearended us because they were tailgating in a construction zone. I personally don't really pay any attention to those tailgating, I let them do what they are going to do. If I am in a bad mood I might take my foot off of the gas and coast just to let them know they need to back off.

The thing I really can't stand is when someone is tailgating then waits to the last minuete to jump in front of you and cut you off with hardley any room. This in turn makes you have to hit your breaks to keep from hitting them. I will admit that in this instance I have done some real close tailgating myself, just to try and prove my point so to speak.

People who tailgate are fools--and very stupid.

They think that by tailgating, they will either intimidate the driver ahead to driving faster, or changing lanes. If there is an unseen need to brake quickly, obviously, the brainless tailgater will rear-end the car in front.

Or, if the tailgater needs to brake quickly, the result is the same. But some drivers don't think that far ahead--they are the ones who shouldn't be driving at all.

People like to drive usually around 5-10 over the speed limit. Going exactly the speed limit is considered "slow" for most drivers. They probably drive behind you (Tail-gating is what its called) to see if you will move out of their way. If you have to brake and they hit you then it's their fault of course, but i would just move out their way if they decide to tail gate you....just in case they do get a little too close.

Because they are ignorant... I was driving my little car in a 65 zone and was going 70. I had a SUV riding right on my *ss. I couldn't even see her bumper in my rear view. I could see her yapping on her cell. I figured she had to get off at the next exit. We passed the exit and she was still riding there. I tapped my brakes a couple of times and even slowed down to 60. Finally I nailed my brakes (i have good insurance). She finally came around me. She had her passenger window down so I yelled out for her to get off her F***ing cell and pay attention to the road. Her jaw dropped and she sped off.... What's worse is when you have a semi riding your a**.

this depends on what lane you are in if it's two lane you should be in the right hand lane, if they are up your bumper in that lane they are just stupid
