I had this problem when I was 18 and got my license. I did not realize what problems I was causing till it was to late. I think it starts with the movies (Gone in 60 sec, Fast and Furious). Making it seem like it is cool to street race and drive crazy. I learned the hard way that it is not ok to drive 75 in a 35. Many suspension and fines made me change. I also grew up a bit and    

had kids. It is just another way to show off thats it.

The way people drive is the way they treat people when they aren't behind the wheel. They think that they're the only ones on the road and they could care less if they endanger the lives of other motorists. The best advice I can give you is to drive very defensively and pull over and let the maniacs speed on by. That's what I do.

because they think they are cool and treat the roads like a race track especily people in vans like my dads mate he alway drives fast even on a bumpy track in a van

you have pretty much asnwered your own question my friend..."and care not for others safety".... there are alot of factors here. It can apply to alot of things. younger people , who dont have kids , dont think of loosing their own child , people who dont drive a motorcycle arent as aware of them until they ride them, or a family member does....you could come up with MANY examples here. Sometimes it is not intentional , sometimes it is immaturity , sometimes it is the "me first" attitude sadly.
