Why do people enjoy movies more then documentaries?

if people want to watch a historical movie why don't they watch a documentary. what appeals to people from movies that they can't do with documentaries. please leave a name so i can quote you.

I prefer historical movie mainly to me they are more interesting. I get bored watching documentaries with all the talking that goes on. Yes i know that a lot of the movies based on stuff is not fall facts but it wont put me to sleep either. Documentaries remind me too much of sitting in classroom in school being bored. Tim

I've never heard that. I love documentaries as well as movies, maybe even more.

Because a film has acting, characters, and a script. For our generation today people are too lazy to see documentaries.

People like historical movies because it gives an artistic interpretation of the event they are portraying. Also because it has scripts, acting, etc. It's sort of obvious that it's entertaining. Sometimes you have to SEE it happening in a dramatic way in order to enjoy it. But I do hope people also watch the documentaries behind them and do some research about topics that interest them.
