Why do people f**t in front close friends but not their enemies?

Question

People tend to f**t in front of those they love and feel close to eg family, SO's, close friends.

But they don't f**t in front of their enemies.

Shouldn't it be the other way round????? I mean, just to state the obvious, farts aren't exactly pleasant for the other person

You trust your friends not to make fun of you, because doing it makes you an easy target for ridicule, which is exactly the reason you don't do it in front of people you don't like or trust.

It's humiliating to let one out. And they feel at ease enough in front of their family. If they let loose with their enemies, and f**t, the enemies might use it against them or point out to everybody else and tell the whole world.
