Why do people feel nauseous when they are pregnant?

I had HG (severe morning sickness) for the first 15 weeks of my pregnancy. Morning sickness is caused by the rapid change of hormones in your body. The reason why morning sickness normally goes away completely or at least eases up on you after the first trimester is because at that time during your pregnancy the placenta takes over and feeds and nourishes your baby.. not just your body.
