Why do people feel so free to use the s*** word all day long, but no one can discuss farts?

Because shlt has evolved to have meanings that have nothing whatsoever to do with excrement.

Like...

"Hey man, what you up to?"

"I ain't doing shlt, man"

Or...

"d**n, this new game is the shlt"

etc.

BTW, who the h**l won't talk about farts?

Maybe they had a brain f**t but they seem nearly identical in most all ways.

Because farts stink....not all - but most.....especially the rotten eggs ones....whew!.....now those are nasty...

Because the s*** word is a word people can put to many uses, while farts are still very specific.

It's like any other curse word. When you say f**k, you aren't always referring to s*x. ;-)

Cause the word s*** is more abstract having different meanings and can be used as a noun, verb, and adjective.  Plus me and a lot of other people in this world have gotten used to saying it in this fast paced society.

f**t is a bodily function so most people get uncomfortable in discussing it.  My ex boyfriends had a lot of gas.  In fact, their gas was so bad that it stunk up the house; LOL.  My friend and I crack f**t jokes involving them; lol.  So you can say I'm one of the weird ones who doesn't feel shy in discussing it.
