  1. a sense of belonging. this world is a lonely place.


  2. These people dont have any identity,so they must identify with some group.

  3. A lot of people want a sense of belonging and the whol "brother/sisterhood" thing.  Of course, for every 40 "brothers" that you have, you also have 40 enemies of the rival frat.  That or tradition I guess.

  5. because they feel that the only way they can make friends is if they pay up the wazoo for it. the also are looking for a place for comfort and closeness.

    its pretty much similiar to being on a sports team but you have to pay way more for it

  6. It varies.  Some people have a high need for affiliation.  Some do so out of tradition -- their parents and siblings did the Greek thing.  Or, some do it for fun or camraderie.  Me, I had no use for it.
