  1. Maybe they have more pressing matters at hand than fashion.

  2. That is the British & German influence, the Spanish women still look really chic. Spanish men when they dress accordingly and not at work can look very macho.

  3. Málaga is a resort town.  If you go into the cities in the center of Andalucía, you will see people dressing for city life, much like anywhere else.  Málaga, being a resort city, where people are dressed down and comfortable on their vacations, the locals probably follow suit.

Personally, never spent enough time in Málaga to notice, but I lived in Sevilla, and I found them to be very well-dressed.  There's a variation between Sevilla and Madrid, but they dress quite nicely in the South.

  4. I never heard it!

The dress is the same in all country, maybe in the sourth people dress without a lot of dress because there are more hot.

Sorry for my english I´m studient.

  5. Can you be more specific? I live in the south of Spain ( Cadiz region ) and I warn all my family when they come over during Xmas & Semana Santa to bring " good clothes" for going out, alongside their normal day to day  wear.

The spanish ( both male and female ) dress very well. It may be that they dress classically  and people in the British isles do not dress up to the same extent on a daily basis as they do here. That may explain the difference for the tourist areas. As for the rest of Spain, I have always felt they dress well, ( not too many football jerseys in sight ) They do not  seem to be as classical as the south but they are always turned out well. You only have to go to a wedding in the south to see style.

However they do tend to dress the children in the south in a more classical way especially for weddings,  town fiestas, family affairs etc....  Many  non spanish people are surprised to see the kids dressed in little matching outfits and styles which we would probably consider old fashioned. But I think it is part of their culture and while it can be quite OTT. The kids always looked well turned out. It is just a matter of taste.
