Why do people get car sick?

What is the reason for car sickness? I get car sick all the time when I'm not driving. How do I resolve this, or prevent this from happening?

  1. car sickness is kinda like air sickness. your body has a reaction to when your are on a moving vehicle. if you are not driving and get car sick then look into the distance, that's what i always do.


  2. I use to get car sickness a lot to on trips down to Florida(I blame all the road work), I usually took some Dramamine which lasts a pretty long time. If you don't wanna take any of that then try opening a window or sitting shotgun.  Also counting the lines on the roads doesn't help.

  3. it helps me when i look off into the distance. when i read or look down i get really dizzy-ish and carsick.

    and it also makes it worse when its too warm in the car.

  4. It happens when the fluid in the tubes in your ear is getting swished around and stuff from the motion of the car.

    Some people get more dizzy and sick than others, it depends on the person.

  5. I think they look down!
