Probably a silly question but I'm just curious why is it that people sometimes get sick walking out in the rain? My guess is when its only cold?

  1. I got pneumonia from water getting into my lungs from snow. If its raining and you are exposed to the elements a similar thing could happen to you in the rain. Also, other things like bread or basements become moldy or mildew-y when wet and if your body is wet I'm sure it attracts similar bacteria since you are 98.6 degrees and wet.

  2. The water lands on your body, absorbs heat from it to evaporate, and lowers your body temperature. When this happens, your immune system becomes weaker and it's harder for your body to fight off germs, etc. it normally kills.

  3. A person that's cold and wet will have a weakened immune system- though the rain itself doesn't cause illness.

  4. idk i dont unless my feet get totally soaked

  5. because if you dont have anything to keep your body warm you can get sick and even git pnemonia, which bernnie mac died from

  6. That's an old wives tale.  People get sick due to viruses or bacteria.  Now a person being wet and cold. . . that person can get hypothermia.  Which can be fatal.
