Question:

Why do people get so angry and vicious when answering a Yahoo Answers Question?

I asked a simple question and not everyone but more than few act like they are talking smack or are better than you and how dare you for asking a question on their time. Who the F are You? if you Dont have anything NICE to say dont say it at all!

Don't take it personally, people here don't know you. But yes, I understand whay you mean, maybe they just think they have the perfect question and get a little too enthusiastic about it...

Well said "jesuslard." I completely agree.

People love to express their true thoughts on this website. Maybe it's because people feel comfortable saying what's on their mind behind a computer screen. I doubt that some people would make these "rude" comments in public. At least I hope not...

Edit: I believe some people become angry or vicious because perhaps the question "struck a nerve," or was offensive in some way... People can get somewhat sentimental/emotional with their answers. And I myself have been guilty of it too...On the other hand, a few people really are just plain rude or like to make others feel inferior. I hate when people feel obligated to correct spelling errors instead of answering the question. I think correcting mistakes is okay as long as they're not being nasty.

I have to plead guilty to this.  One girl asked a question about getting pregnant after several abortions and I went off.  Not my best moment.  But as a general rule, if I can't answer the question appropriately, I move on to the next.

It could be your question has offended someone, or some people may feel your question is a matter of common sense, or maybe they're just in a bad mood.

It is, however, inexcusable, and if someone can't provide a helpful answer, they should just move on to the next question.

I think there are some people out there that have major anger problems and maybe this forum is the only place they can ever let their feelings out. Too bad they do it to innocent people!
