Question:

Why do people get so emotional about cars and elections?

No one cares what kind of refrigerator you buy but will jump all over your choice of cars! Same thing with elections. If you tell someone who you're going to vote for they get all emotional if they disagree. Why are these such "hot button" topics?

  1. The easiest things to get to people are and have always been politics, s*x, and religion.  Cars at present happen to fall under the first category.  It is not just a statement about how much money you have, it's a statement about how you feel about global warming and dependence on foreign oil.  At least, that's how it's seen by a lot of people, as a political statement.

  2. thats just how people are sometimes its normal. People get emotional if noone votes for obama, or maccaine. they do that for some reason.

  3. These are two very different questions.

    1) Politics. Because our very lives depend on who becomes President. Four more years of King W/McSenile and we can kiss our Constitution goodbye, thousands more Americans will be sent overseas to their deaths or life-changing wounds, and we'll all be living in tents by the river and begging for change on street corners.

    2) Cars. Symbols of success, wealth, strength, manhood, etc., etc.

  4. um thats a weird question because if about belief, if someone contradicts something i believe id get kind of annoyed lol its probably something like that. also cars are something you phisically use but a refrigerator is something you dont really think about when you use it

  5. because they really have no life outside of material possessions and the falsehood of political choice, why are you voting anyway?

  6. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion and being emotional is part of the fun. Of course i could care less if someone were to buy a mustang but just don't touch the chevy blazer. It's not that i'm emotional, it's what i like to call..reserve of thought. As far as the elections go..well, no thought there and no emotions neither.
