Why do people get so ticked off if you say something negative about Sarah Palin?

I'M VOTING FOR MCCAIN people, but still I DO NOT like the fact that he has chosen her. Why do people get so upset if I'm not happy with my party's VP pick? ???

You dont like that she is an abstinence supporter .. ok I can understand some people dont like that.  dont like that she wants to drill for oil in anwar .. ok I know some people dont agree with it.

or the investigation over firing of a public official.. ok its a valid concern.

but if you cant bring up anything else besides that her daughter is pregnant and so she must be a bad mother, that her husband got a dui 22 years ago.. or that her child with down's syndrome must be her daughters and she is covering it up by claiming its hers...

I was going to go with Bob Barr or something until he picked Palin. I think the more you know, the more you like.

She has more experience than Obama and shes only running VP.

Because people want to see a woman in a high ranking of office. I also like McCain and I thought very highly of Palin on her speech on Friday. She's a tough woman who is smart and articulate and resourceful. I don't have a problem if you don't like her, that's your opinion and rightfully so. I can especially see some republican based Christians getting upset because of Palin. As a republican I'm not sure what to think. Her daughter is 17 and made a life-altering mistake. That doesn't mean Palin didn't teach her the difference between right and wrong, it just means her daughter chose to make her own decision anyway. I am way against teenage pregnancy but part of s*x is responsibilty....she has to take responsibility for her actions, and I do think Palin handled it well. She's never tried to cover it up. Anyway, I'm ok with you not liking Palin. Just glad to hear you are voting Republican. McCain is a heck of a man!

Could be because nobody knows who the heck she is, and until they find out, from independent or news media sources, they're giving her the benefit of the doubt that is extendable to every stranger, until you get to know both their strengths and their faults.

Personally, I still don't know anything solid about this woman, because there's presently so much rumour around her, and things that I've learned that I thought were facts are softened into being "just rumours" by her supporters...such as they are. I've seen her described on the news as a 'self-styled "hockey mom"' - yet when people have described her as a hockey mom here on Answers, they've been shouted down with "is that the best you can do?" Apparently, it's the best SHE can do, if she's self-styling herself that way, y'know what I mean? I'd love some factual information on this woman - just so I can get a real handle on what, other than controversy, she brings to the Republican campaign for office in 2008. I have yet to figure that one out...
