Why do people get so upset about the new refund policy at kmart???

i do returns in an australian kmart store and it seems that even after 5 months customers still arent used to the new strict policy.....and we bear the brunt of it! i get abused most shifts when i refuse customers refunds, which i try to ignore, but its hard :(

cant people just read the d**n policy, get over it, and stop making our work lives miserable?

the refund policy seems pretty fair to me - please explain how it has changed.

customer service jobs can be hard - you're always going to be on the receiving end of rude people.  it's not fair, but people know you're not really in a position to argue back and they take advantage of that.

Ok, I have just seen your further info.

it's hard - but you must stick to your guns on this.  you don't get paid enough to handle this sort of abuse - is there no manager you can refer rude customers to?  I would never dream of asking for a refund on anything without the receipt - it's your proof of purchase.  it's only fair.

sorry to hear you're having so much hassle.  Can the staff point out the refund policy @ purchase?
