Why do people get so upset when they hear about Rooster ( c**k ) fighting in the news?

I'm sure they eat the ones that don't win the fight so basically it's just like playing with your food, right?

all you see is blood and two angry rooster going at it for no reason...

God didn't intend us to abuse animals..

there's a different from animals fighting on their own and humans having the animals to fight each other...

They don't eat the ones that don't win, they typically just throw them away or leave them in a pile in a backyard. That's actually how they usually get caught is a neighbor complains about the smell..

Some people that raise roosters will use injectable steroids and such to make the birds even angrier then they are. The birds also aren't fighting with their own spurs, they have razor blades attached. SO, if the roosters were fighting in the wild, the weaker bird would be somewhat injured, but, it would be able to leave when it realized it was losing and could recover from it's injuries. Obviously, that's a completely different story when the roosters have razor blades attached instead of their fingernail like claws.

I'm not against using animals in sport like horse racing or even well monitored dog sled racing and the like. Sure, accidents can happen, but, the aim is NOT to injure the animals or make them suffer unnecessarily. Rooster fighting, just like dog fighting, is expressly for the purpose of causing injury and torturing an animal to entertain people that get off on the suffering and death of living things. When you think about the underlying mentality, you can understand why people who enjoy fighting animals can be a concern to society. Statistically, animal abusers progress to child abuse and assault on other humans. That's why it's illegal.  I don't get all excited thinking about how the chicken I eat died. I enjoy eating meat, but, I don't enjoy that the animal died and I hope that it died as humanely as possible.

I mean, chickens are as dumb as h**l, but that's no reason to torture them to death.

When they die to be on your plate, chickens die painlessly. If they die fighting, they die in agony and it takes a lot longer.

No it isn't they don't eat the ones that don't win the roosters fight to the death. The roosters are of a special fighting breed and besides that they are roosters and any normal rooster doesn't like other roosters. They put blades on the roosters spurs and those blades are so sharp that they could puncture a lung, bust out an eye, or break bones. I am one of those people that get upset because it is horrible to hear about! I love every animal and don't want to see any getting hurt.
