Why do people think that American cars are naught but loud, poorly-built, unexciting crapboxes with oversized, primitive-technology engines that have all the cornering ability of a large brick?

  1. >> Why do people think that American cars are naught but loud, poorly-built, unexciting crapboxes with oversized, primitive-technology engines that have all the cornering ability of a large brick?

    Because they are.

My family grew up on American cars. I was the one who always worked on them. And they are c**p.

    good luck...

  2. Because they do not know what they are talking about.

  3. Because they break down all the time.

  4. because they don't know how to take care of cars. i had fords that has lasted longer than honda

  5. Because in the '70's and early '80's that's exactly what they were! Even though they are now all very reliable, well put together and get great fuel mileage domestics are STILL unexciting and boring save but a handfull of models. Besides, Honda, Toyota, Nissan, BMW, Benz, and VW are built right here in the U.S.A. and Chevy trucks are built in Mexico. While we're on the subject, Saab is owned by GM and has Chevy engines and transmissions, Ford owns Rover, Chrysler owns a huge portion of Mitsubishi, etc, blah, blah....

How do you even begin to decipher what's built/owned where and by who anymore?

  6. Because most American cars are "loud, poorly-built, unexciting crapboxes with oversized, primitive-technology engines that have all the cornering ability of a large brick"

I have owned both American and Japanese....

  7. Honda Acura Toyota Lexus. Enough said. Look at the quality of just those 4 car manufactures. They might be a few $'s more, but look how much longer they last without problems.

  8. same reason why people hate americans because they think they are pieces of c**p...    Most american cars are faulty and easily worn.
