Why do people hate Californians so much?

i've always wondered this.

Are people jealous that we have great weather,beaches, nice people and always sunny here?

or what??

why do people hate them so much??

and i know this has nothing to do with Beauty and Style but this section gets more answers. so don't ask me.

people don't like californians bc they are just really really smug people in general.and it gets on peoples nerves because you have to admit, smug people just seem to have an aire of superiority about them that rubs people the wrong way. and about who said new yorkers are the biggest aholes, PSHH! I'm a born and raised NYC kid and were not aholes, were just really impatient with everyones pre-formed opinions that were aholes so they do stupid things to make us mad so they can get a reaction. were generally nice people, just low tolerance for people that are stupid, ignorant, arrogant or insanely annoying.

People hate the fact that you guys live in your own world, almost your own planet and many things that you say and do AREN'T seen as down to Earth and grounded in reality with the rest of the country. The rest of America doesn't live the "way out there" lifestyle that Californians live.

I'm cool with it, and as a matter of fact it would be a fitting lifestyle for me but I'm also from New Jersey so I know why they're hated.

i dont hate california. i just like virginia better. the weather is nicer, the air is cleaner, and the beaches are prettier. and everyone is nice here. lol va is for lovers ♥

I live in orange county and it is paradise. california is so diverse, and how could some dummmbbaaasssss say that we live in our own world and are too good for people. There are beaches, desserts, mountains, EVERYTHING and so many different cultures.

I love california and im not gonna like diss any other states but how come everyone wants to move out here?

and how fuuuckinngg rude to say that we should deport immigrants.

sure, northern cali is gorgeous.

but the air is polluted and it irritates my allergies.

the people are hardly nice, they're pretty strange too.

i prefer hawaii.

Nice people?? Obviously you haven't traveled out of California too much...

I lived in Cali for 4 years and when I said Hi to people on the street, or opened doors for them, I almost never got thanked, and quite a few times got dirty looks.

Californians are stuck up and superficial beyond belief. (No this doesn't apply to all of them... but it is especially true in Southern California)

I loved the weather and the beaches... but I absolutely couldn't stand the people.

Or it could be they get that whole "Laguna beach/oc" rep for having those "stupid" blonde beachy people everyyywhere... But I don't know if that's true or not.

But couldn't you say the same thing about any other place having great weather, nice people, etc. It really just depends on what you think is a nice place to live, not everyone likes the beach, or sun all the time and some people do.

Yeah, I live in Michigan and I love it here because we get all 4 seasons and I think there is really beautiful nature and wildlife, but anywhere you live there are stuck up people, nice people, whatever. I like that I live near Detroit too.. XD
