Probably because he got that bj.  The majority of Americans are Christians, therefore, since he violated the sanctity of his marriage, he is consider unethical and unfit for presidency.  It's the sad truth; make a decision based on absolutely nothing that harms millions (say... invading Vietnam), you stay in office.  Get off with the wrong chick, harming no one ('cept maybe Hillary), get impeached.

A lot of Republicans hated on him before the incident, but I think that's just because he was their competitor.

haha people are so ignorant ur totally right...clinton was/is practically a god.  extremely intelligent and methodical.  the republicans are cowards; they inflated the pathetic and tawdry "bj."  They needed something to take over peoples minds.  He was essentially perfect.  But republicans pushed on making sure his rep was extirpated. so he had personal problems.  thats no way to bring down possibility one of the greatest presidencies.  he did have a balanced budget which bush gave away. republicans harassed him when they could have used all that money to help unite america not destroy it.  ur right positive growth...low crime...the expansion was not due to cold war end which was under reagan by the way but the "creative destruction" of the dotcom phase.

Because he took the left more to the right. He was a huge corporate defender, maintaining Cold War military spending levels enriching the private sector at the public's expense. He bombed Iraq and perpetuated sanctions resulting in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi lives. He was simply a nationalistic mafia don. The list goes on...

Some parent was so proud of their young daughter, she got to work in the White House. Yea right, and the ole' letch of a president took advantage of her youth right there in the Oval Office. He was supposed to have good judgment.

Bill Clinton has almost always had high popularity ratings due to his charisma and ability to connect with people.

But if you research his history you'll know that he has been supposedly tied to some dirty business deals and business people through out his career. This whole thing goes all the way back to when he was still governor of Arkansas. His merrital improprieties were just a distraction to the real issues going on in Washington.

By the way he is responsible for giving away lots of USA's technological secrets to China. In many ways he's just another politician, but compared to W at least he looked like he was more aware of what he did.

Presidents have less controll over the economy than people think. The economic boom of the 90s was mostly due to the end of the Cold War.
