Why do people hate on my weird music interests?

Question

i like a BIG variety of music.

like slipknot, rihanna, disturbed, green day, miley cyrus, aquabats, ben folds, natashia beddingfield.

and a lot of other weird genres.

i have some "cheerleader" friends and some "emo" friends. and when i talk to one clan about music that comes from the next clan they talk bad, and start to dislike me, for my TASTE IN MUSIC.

they're being g*y

yes they are! you have same tastes as me tbh lol..i LOVE!! my metal  and heavy rock music..but i cant help but listen to the odd hannah montana sing along or natasha bedingfield these words, or flobots handles lol

you shouldnt give a toss what yr friends think about yr tastes. i dont (i still love them though)..my music tastes is what makes me special, i love it lol, and yr friends will too if you stand up to them and say "this is what i listen to..this is what makes me..me" . Be proud of what you listen to and your self for not taking any **** from them <3

You're 100% correct young lady -- they're being g*y.  If they're judging you solely on your musical tastes, what kind of friends are they?  I'd advise you to find some new friends, or if you're not willing to let them go then just don't talk about music around them.

I'm a bit like this- I like loads of different genres. Either tell your friends to accept you for who you are and what you like and tell them that they should expand their horizons or just don't talk about music. I would stand up for myself- you shouldn't let people push you into liking certain things xx

Just hang out with who likes you for you, or just ignore them. I think that it's great that you have such a wide variety of music, so just be yourself. =]
