Why do people hate the pats so much?

It is sort of interesting in my opinion. When the Pats first did well, the year they upset the Rams in the Super Bowl, they were actually pretty well liked. It was sort of one of those, "Lets route for the underdog/cinderella story things." However, people really don't seem to enjoy any team being good for an excessive amount of time. So, now that NE has been on or right at the top for almost an entire decade, I think people are ready for a change.

Also, as I'm sure many people will say, the whole possible spy-gate scandal doesn't help their case. No one likes losing and losing to a cheater is like ten times worst. My personal opinion is "if you aren't cheating, you aren't trying." Obviously, teams should not intentionally break the rules, but the rules are clearly bent basically on a daily basis.

Finally, I personally don't think the Patriots as a team are really that arrogant. However, the coach, certainly does have a stuck up personality. Basically, although he doesn't even play, I think after Brady he is basically the face of the franchise.

The game of football is all about the team spirit , inherently it is a game which involves sacrifice, courage and team spirit. there isnt another sport in which you put your own body at risk for your team mate. This subconciously to most people (but not all) is linked with ethics , morality, ethos etc etc.....A superbowl team should be the ambassador of the game and its ethos should permiate every single player and coach.

Tha pats have a corrupt coach, a possibly corrupt owner and hence that has more of a general effect on the team. Put tony dungy as coach and I might like the pats a little more....!!!

I used to hate them because they won like 3 SB in 4 years and they beat my Panthers in SB 38 and they always seem to have a good team, and I used to think "LET SOMEONE ELSE WIN" you know, it was getting annoying, you could pretty much predict the season: Pats win, it's no fun when you know who is going to win every other team has atleast a few bad years but not the Pats, thats one reason

they win a LOT of games and superbowls, so people just hate them because they always beat their team. by the way i hate the pats, too

The same reason people hate the Cowboys, Colts, Yankees, Red Sox, ect ect.

They are GOOD and popular. That brings out alot of hate.

Do alot of people hate the Dolphins, Lions, Texans? Nah.. wonder why?

Well, I don't really care too much about the whole Spygate thing.  But I really started hating them last season when they would be up by 4 touchdowns in the second half and they still have their starters out there gunning it down the other team's throats just to further humiliate them even more.  It also shows that the coaching staff doesn't care much about their players by causing unneccesary risk when the game is out of reach.  I'm also not a big fan of Tom Brady.  So there's my reasons.

They're unethical because they cheat. If you can't play the game fairly, then you've lost my respect. This goes for any team.

It is pretty sad that when they loose,there coach has such poor sportsmanship that he can't shake hands(with Dungy) or simply walks off the field before the end of game(Superbowl)Pathetic!
