Why do people have a beef with skinny and pretty people?

I posted a question yesterday asking who was the best looking out of several models. Just their pictures, I didn't include any interviews. Then some of the responses said that they were superficial or fake. How do people know this? Is this because they're pretty?

And I also notice that in society people have no problem calling a skinny person too thin but if they see an overweight person, they just keep their mouth shut. Why is that? Some people are born naturally super thin (myself included) and I feel offended when people ask me if I'm anorexic. Do they go up to an overweight person and point out that they are obese no?

So where's the beef?

Thank you! I feel the same way.  I am very thin too and used to model, and many who don't know me automatically assume that I am a stuck up girl that never eats when really I'm pretty down to earth and shy and could probably eat them under the table.  Why is it not taboo to tell a skinny person they need to eat more, but it is if you were to tell an overweight person they should lay off the food a little???  I feel ya!  People need to realize that everybody comes in all shapes and sizes and there is no "perfect".  Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder.

Yep. Agreed. It's sort of a sour grapes type of thing that both fat and skinny people do. I see pretty celebrities on tv, get a little jealous, then make myself feel better by assuring myself "They're pretty because they're shallow and stupid. They probably throw up their meals in the bathroom. I'm glad I don't look like them."

The other way around, I might be defeated in an argument with a smart person and comfort myself with "Hey, at least I'm not ugly like her."

But yeah, there's a bit of a double standard there. It's cool to make fun of skinny people but not fat people.
