Why do people have dreams??

I always wanted to know...and please dont answer just to say, "I dont know!" Please reasonable answers ONLY!

Because things happen to us in dreams that are best kept in dreams....where the 'OFF' button is close by and we can escape to reality before things get too hairy.

Then again some things happen to us in dreams that she would never agree to when awake.  :)

they just do u can't explain it that is just like asking why do people day dream there is no real reason just it is that way

it points to a carefree attitude. and it's a way of telling you about things. like you usually dream about things according to what you did that day, and your brain twists it into something it desires. it really doesn't make any sense about how something can be so graphic, something you've never seen before. sometimes you're dreams warn you about things, or they tell you how you really feel.

i dreamed my favourite band were all shorter than me, and that thye kept ignoring me. then they all turned into my family. what i got from this was that i have to stop worrying about being taller than some of my friends, and be grateful that i'm average. i also got that i had to stop being embarrassed or put off by my family's behaviour. other people are like them too. since then you can say i've let loose a little...

but that's beside the point. dreams have morals, but i don't know why we have dreams. it's just we do and we can't stop them. we should just let them happen and interpret them when they happen.
