Why do people have such hatred for music that's not their favoured genre and sports teams they do not support?

They can be the most mild mannered people you'll ever meet but then have such a strong hatred for bands, singers, musicians, football teams they do not support Etc. What is it with the human condition that makes people want to leave expletives on Youtube that you wouldn't even shout through a paedophile's letter box. Compared to all the tragedy and injustice in the world, is it really worth such animosity between punk and metal listeners or Man Utd. and Chelsea fans? Or is it just teenagers' penchant for tribalism and personal justification?

i'm one of the people that HATES the jonas brothers rap etc. but the people i know and i hate them because they take no skill and are getting rich for no reasone when other people could use that money. Really if theyr getting money they should at least EARN it instead of it just being given to them for no reasone. and then some of the most thchnical bands that spent there entire lives practicing dont get noticed at all and can barley afford to play and eat.

In regards to the sports teams, it is legitimate competition. They can hold back your favorite team, beat them, knock them out of a championship, etc. And there are rivalries. It is tradition and passes through generations. I am a Gator so I dislike pretty much so every team in the SEC and FSU and Miami. It just comes with the territory. Although I am happy when I see an SEC team take the championship as we are the most deserving conference in the country.

In terms of music, I think that's stupid. If you don't like it, don't listen to it. The only time I get mad/annoyed is when a terrible song becomes popular and plays every hour on the radio.
