  1. They don't. It's actually wayyy cuter when they're not fake dating.

Dating is sooo lame until you're like at least a junior. It's best for seniors and all college years.

  2. I know how you feel. Middle school sucks in that department. At my high school hugging was very big especially with girls, they would hug both genders and holding hands wasn't look weirdly upon. My guy friend is quite an affectionate guy and likes to hug his friends and put his arms around us and no one batted an eyelid. Public affection is quite common round here.

  3. It's ok if it's your little sister or something.

  4. high school wont be much better..people just take whimsical relationships more seriously...our society is just that why...touching is taboo...go to other countries and people will do it freely

  5. Remembering as a young man:  enjoy it if you can get friends of the opposite s*x and have them in a platonic freindship: Like band mates.  Lab partners. ect.  Make an effort to work on those relationships because if you can cross the gender line in your friendships you network better and are involved more and understand more about how serious relationships - do work - and - don't work -  between the genders.

In a boys eye, it may be worrisome to hold hands with a girl.  The hasing and the guff can be consideralbly too heavy to want to put up with.  And it is not that he doesn't want to touch a girls hand,  It is a heady notion and his intencity to seek a girl to hold is there.  In fact it is so intense that he doesn't lnow how to deal with emotion.  This is scary stuff.  "What if everyone finds out that I like her", "what happens when it all goes public" ,  "what if she doesn't like me",  "does it make me less of a guy to like to hang with this girl",  "will I lose me dude friends?"  ect.

This only gets more complex as you get older:  Learning how to ruin a perfect platonic freindship by getting sexual.  Now that is a painful lesson filled with heart-ache.  But always, in the back of the mind, "is this the one I want to spend my life with"?

    Good luck to you.
