Why do people have to wear uniforms at school?

Can't they choose what they wear, I don't have to do this but it's so unfair.

It's in all private schools in the US.

In England, in all the schools the kids have to wear uniforms.

I know its very unfair. I'm finally getting out of a school where I had to wear uniform for 6 years.

I know there is numerous reasons why, but the most ' beloved ' is because the school doesn't want someone to be made fun of by someone who bought their jeans from Coach and they bought theirs at Walmart.

i go to a private school. and i love wearing a uniform. its so easy to get dressed because i dont have to worry about what im gonna wear and if i wore it already, blah blah blah. we have really cute uniforms (the classic school girl look). and teachers dont really enforce the tucking in your shirt rule. i like wearing them a lot

The education system feels that if children are not thinking/worrying about what they are going to wear the next day or who thinks they look good...then they can spend more time thinking about what really matters at school...your education...they're right but i agree it does suck...

ive heard that it was the students' parents' vote, and if most want their children to wear uniforms, then they will (like for most catholic high schools)

usually they want their kids to wear uniforms for obvious reasons; less competition with other studentsin their clothing, no worrying about what to wear on the morning

In Public schools?

Because America has a huge problem, the problem is our obsession with scape goat solutions. They feel behavior problems will be fixed with uniforms. Which is false, it doesn't fix anything when i was in middle school, it just caused way more problems. Teachers have to spend way to much time enforcing it, kids were just as bad.

This is America, it not going to work. Clothing companies are going to lose so much money if the who country turns into a uniform wearing school system
