Why do people hide their true feelings?

Question

I am a very expressive person - and if I feel safe enough with someone I will tell them like it is - actually I'll tell everyone like it is - to the point

Its weird when I know someone likes me alot but doesn't express it ... I know they're upset but they don't show it or express it

Thing is - this makes me feel unappreciated!!

I just wish they'd show it!!!!

Everyone is different.  

Some reasons for holding feelings in might be --

--fear of what others will think

--taught by parents to keep feelings private

--regrets as a result of a bad experience

people hide there feelings for others to figuer them out its like a mind game it adds to the excitment ov the chase and adds a bit of fun into a relation ship so i wouldnt worry to much about sharing ur feelings unless ur in a long term relation shipe

people hide their true feeling cause sometimes its not right i been bisexual sincve i been 14 yet i never told my parents or friends and hid my real failings because it wasent excepted but now that g**s and bi's have come a long way I am open about my feelings sometimes you cant help how you feel

I guess he's either a bit insecure, more introverted than you or both Plenty of guys out there that find it hard to open up properly to someone before they feel they know them well. I definitely fall into that catogory. It doesn't work if you force yourself either but just comes naturally when you finally know them well. Good luck!
