  1. Because in this cold world, someone had the compassion to help you out in time of need OUT OF THEIR OWN CONVENIENCE. The money is rightfully theirs and you are in their DEBT and it must be cleared. You done borrowed money that you probally aren't going to pay pack. I hope it wasn't a petty loan because you might burn a bridge.

Personally, i can't tolerate such nonsense. I may have more money than the borrower at that time but i do expect some type of consideration. I've once let a cosuin borrow $200 and she was still stuck in a hole. Needless to say, she offered what ever little she can spare at a time. $10 here, $20 there, even offered to help me with landscaping.

I respect that! And for that, i told her not to worry about it.

  2. Hounding usually starts when you have been late with at least one payment.

For a friend who needed money for an emergency, I would probably loan money with little or no interest--and then would be very upset if I saw them spending spare cash on something rather than paying me back.

  3. I'd say it's because they're looking to be paid back.  Why else would they hound you?

  4. Because they have heard the same thing from many people before.  There are also legal reasons why they do it - for example, if they can harass you enough to get you to send a small payment, that extends the statute of limitations.  Also, it reminds people that they owe money.  Lastly, many people who work as bill collectors are paid by the amount of money they bring in from past due accounts, so that gives them incentive to stay on top of you by calling, etc.

  5. Because they want their money.

  6. B/c people lie! And the Lender usually WANTS their money or NEEDS it back when you SAY you are going to give it back! Its funny how people will allow money change them!!! How can you be upset, they did you a favor that they didnt have to do!

  7. actioins speak louder then word's and most bill collectors here that all the time!

    i'll pay you back!

the thing is they want you to pay them back on their terms not yours!

    sucks don"t it!

  8. Because it is so easy for people to forget they owe you if you don't keep bugging them.  Also, if you keep bugging them for your money, they'll pay you back sooner than they'll pay the people who don't bother them.

Make payments if you can't pay back the whole loan.  Everybody says "I'll pay you back as soon as I can".  Giving someone $20 of the $100 you owe them lets them know you mean it.  Seeing them at the bar let's you know that they don't mean it--so the lender is going to keep bugging you until you are sicker of hearing him whine than you are of staying home and saving money.

  9. Uh, maybe because they want their money back.  OK, you SAY you'll pay them back - did you ever hear that actions speak louder than words?
