i feel like americans don't pay much attention to swimming before according to this statement.

is this true?

if americans don't really care for swimming,why they always win more than 10 golds and 20 medals in swimming?

if they start to be enthusiastic about swimming?

yeah i see how you feel.

i mean they kept talking about it like we won the superbowl or something or world cup. but i guess if i were him id want people happy for me to, well he did do outstanding so i mean give him some credit

No, I don't think that he is made americans care about swimming, I just think he made a much, much more popular sport in the United States. It made people notice the sport more, and I am sure it will inspire many children to start going to the pool, and tell everyone that they are going to be the next Micheal Phelps.I think the biggest impact Micheal Phelps made on the United States was to inspire people that they can do anything they set their mind and heart to do.

Just because we have the best swimmers in the world doesn't mean everyone watches it. It's not really a spectator sport.
