Question:

Why do people just focus on global warming? Do they think this is the only environmental problem?

What about other issues like: the polluted drinking water, water shortages, manufactuing polluting the lakes and rivers, how every thing is disposable now, one use items filling up landfills, lack of good recycling companies, toxic chemicals in plastic, what to do with household hazardous waste, clothing treated with pesticides, and many many other issues. Are you worried about these, or just global warming?

  1. Most of those are also problems, of course.  However, global warming is quite possibly the greatest threat humans have ever faced.  It's not like we're ignoring water quality and recycling in the process - it's not an either-or proposition.  It's just that global warming gets more focus because it's the bigger concern.

  2. Global warming is the most famous, and most likely to cause end of the world. I support BLUE PLANET, RECYCLING, Pollution, natural foods, and a lot of other things not just global warming.

  3. Global warming is very serious. People don't just worry about that one environmental problem, it's just way more serious and dangerous. Of course we're worried about all of the other environmental problems in the world. Just because global warming is the most publisized doesn't mean nobody thinks or cares about the other issues going on.

  4. Way to go, Its sickening to me to see all these idiots that buy into global warming. It was just in the 70's these idiot enviormentalists were telling us we were all going to freeze to death in the mini ice-age. Time magazine even had Manhattan under a glacier on the cover.

I once thought America was more intelligent about falling for things like this but I guess i'm wrong. Alot of people just can't think for themselves once they get out of the public school systems i guess.

Global warming would only be a problem....granted...if it kept going up...turning the world into a vast desert. That's the scenario, right ? That's what the freaks are afraid of, right ?

So why is it that temperatures have platuea'd since 1998 ? What about the temperatures dropping 1/2 a degree in 2007 due to less sun spot activity ? If Co2 was the evil culprit then shouldn't temperatures still be rising ? What about the industrialization period of this country from 1945 to the70's, we let off more pollution and co2 yet termeratures were going lower.

The polar bears aren't drowning, they more than doubled since the 70's. The waters along shorelines have decreased in the past decades, not risen. If this is such a real problem, why is it the real evidence doesn't support it ? why are all the egg heads with their perfect laboratory conditions running the show when they have no clue what's really going on outside the laboratory ?

Its a hoax, and if you want to believe in a hoax and be the dolt, go ahead, but I take it personal when some idiot changes policy to steal more money out of my wallet or tell me how to live, what I can buy or what products I can use due to their hoax.

  5. I agree. On any local basis there are serious environmental problems ranging from fuel oil in the water table to the destruction of coastal fisheries.

I think the media, which seems to want to shoot down concern for these problems, focuses on the debatable subject of GW to distract people from these other problems which would be costly to repair, and would require some admission of fault on the part of parties that do not to make such an admission.

  6. You are right, they are all important issues.  I don't know who you're talking about that "just focuses on global warming".

  7. Quite honestly, those problems are mostly solved in America.  The landfill problems are local, my county already recycles almost everything.  Global warming still requires a lot of education, we have made little progress towards changes -- and the problem is global.  It cannot be solved locally, but requires world leaders to get over their self-interests and commit to treaties that will allow a global solution.

  8. Yes I focus on all those things and its human beings who cause it all.

  9. I try to do the best I can in regards to recycling, reducing, etc, but know I am not perfect.  I think it basically comes down to this: we humans are leeches on the earth and began destroying it from the very beginning.

Until the world, not just Americans, really changes their views towards taking care of the planet, things will continue to head downward.
