His story of being homeless, poor, from a rough city... Sounds like Mike Tyson's story to me.  I know you have watched his street fights on the Internet.  His looks are menacing and his on camera attitude is nice.  America does not want a menacing fighter who is also a jerk.  Word of mouth from the Internet and marketing from Elite.  That is the fascination.  Most of the people who are negative about the guy are just jealous.  They would like the break he is getting right now.  Who wouldn't want to make tons of money beating journeymen. Tyson did for his first 20 something fights.

Because people don't know anything about the sport.

If people knew anything about the sport, they should have just realized from that fight against James Thompson that Kimbo is truly nothing special and just a rookie as he keeps claiming. He IS a rookie. The reason he is so popular and people want to see him, is because of his 'celebrity' status from his stupid dumb bare knuckle boxing videos against CHUMPS on youtube.

Kimbo Slice is just a rookie MMA fighter with knock out power. If you think he is going anywhere in MMA you are just delusional.

simply because he became a star on youtube then people recognized him as a ****** beast !! you must have seen is fight on youtube damnnn that why he is famous he promoted himself before hitting the big league..you know a lot of specialist has told that he was going to do **** in the ufc however he won is 3 fight and make them shut up! if he continue like this he would be a legend of fighting!!

Simple, because the media promoted him.  He is a sh$tty fighter and got his a@# kicked in 2 rounds and the 2nd round the ref should have stopped the fight. I mean over 90 seconds of him getting pounded and not trying to save himself, he even looked passed out.  Yet as soon as the other guys ear bleeds the fight stops?  What?  Sounds like the fight was rigged.

So people become obessed with who the media says is interesting even if they suck.

As for Tank Abbot, he is a joke. He is fat, came to MMA with only experience in bar fighting, he has no endurance and gets angry too quickly which messes up his judgement.  People only know him because he is arrogant and people love to see an arrogant person get his head kicked in
