Why do people keep suggesting that the Supreme Court is a conservative majority?

The conservatives are Roberts, Alito, Scalia, and Thomas.

The liberals are Kennedy, Stephens, Breyer, Ginsburg, and Souter.

It's a 5-4 split, with an advantage to the Left.

  1. With the exception of Ginsburg,  the others are swing votes and will vote with the conservatives depending on the issue at hand. Just look at the gun ruling just a few mins ago.

  2. 7 of the 9 were elected (nominated) by republicans...

I would also say the Relgious right has taken over the GOP and that the GOP has become more conservative...The Judges are still what they were when nominated.

  3. You have to look at the totality of what Kennedy has done for his 20 years on the Court, not just the times he sides with the liberals. Kennedy has long been voting more often with Scalia and Thomas and, when he was alive, Rehnquist, than with liberals like Stevens and Ginsburg.

And do you remember the Bush v. Gore decision? Do you know who wrote that one?

Kennedy in favor of g*y marriage? When was that? I know perfectly well that he held Colorado's Amendment 2 unconstitutional and Texas's sodomy law. But neither of those decisions touched on g*y marriage.

Kennedy is an activist Justice. He sometimes engages in liberal activism and sometimes in conservative activism. But I can display an even longer list of conservative decsions he has rendered along with Rehnquist, Scalia, and Thomas than you just did giving us his liberal votes.

And he voted "in favor of child rapists" ...? Yeesh, how badly you exaggerate girl!!!

  4. The libs will lie and cry about everything because they know most people won't take the time to figure out the truth.  They also know all of their lies won't be questioned and will be aided by the main stream media.  Simple:  Put out lies and have the media advertise them for you as the truth.  Even better only let other liberals on your show to discuss the lies.

  5. Just yesterday I read in disbelief as a Y!A poster claimed the NY Times was operated by 'right-wingers.'
