  1. That is a good question - What can we reasonably do?

God is in control, He will not let His earth be destroyed.  He knows when one sparrow falls, and He will take care of the earth.

We can recycle and be good stewards of what He gave us,

and PRAY that others do the same!

    {S}

We are also destroying our morals - most people are okay with abortion, the killing of unborn babies!

  2. speak for yourself ,i have been working on behalfof the Environment for over 30 years

global warming cannot be stopped but we can stop helping it becoming faster, and being friendlier to out Environment cannot be bad ,

such as organising groups to clean around the place on riverbanks or road sides

if you do any cleaning up leave signs behind saying who cleaned, why and ask people not to start dumping rubbish again ,leave a hole or bins ,in case people come back with trash ,

we have done a lot of comunity cleaning and if you dont leave alternatives or try to work on peoples guilt feelings (some people actually have those ,but not many)

than your efforts are a waste of time.

the world bank pays large subsidies for reforrestation to capture carbon and the best tree for this is the Pawlonia

Waterharvesting projects ,such as millions of small dams.to redirect over ground waterflows from the rains into the ground to supply subteranian water supplies.

    the protection of existing forrests.

  3. It is easier to destroy than to repair.  There are many things you as one person cando to help.  You can recycle the stuff that you use some recyclers pay you for the bottles that you recycle.  You can use a cycle to go to nearby places such as the library. You can drive a Hybrid vehicle such as the Toyota Prius or the Ford escape- hybrid version.

these are some of the few things you can do.

  4. I think this is a great question, but it has multiple answers:

First, the U.S. (I won't speak for other countries) is a "convenience nation".  We are so used to having the things we want without thinking where it comes from, what it took to make it/transport it/market it/etc. and what the repercussions are -- we think "world schmorld" and keep moving.

Second, many people don't think that little things they do (recycle, conserve gas/energy, use reusable items) can make any difference, so they don't bother.

Third, related to my second point, I don't think most people connect with the fact that the way we are living now IS having an impact on our world.  I think a lot of people are unwilling to look past their own backyard to realize that we're experiencing signficant issues worldwide that are and will continue to impact the planet more drastically every day.

Fourth, we are still living in a culture that doesn't value environmentalism enough so many of the things that are better for our world AND us (e.g. organic foods, alternative forms of energy) are less accessible and more expensive.  Consequently, people are less likely to embrace these earth-friendly practices.

That's all I have for now, but I'm SURE there are tons more reasons.

  5. i think we all need to do our part.

i think the hybrid car is the only major thing we've done so far.  i honestly hope it extends much farther than that.  we need to find another source of fuel for our automobiles.  and i believe that we need to stop being so selfish and think about the world and the generations following us, who will probably have to clean up after us.
