Some people get a good laugh from the failures of others, because in their state of mind, they cannot fail, therefore it is funny that the "lesser" people, or those capable of failure, failed. See what I'm saying?

People always feel hard done by, feel that they are owed something or that their life is particularly hard. It's just human nature.

So seeing someone else fail naturally makes them feel as though they are not the only ones feeling ****. So they laugh at others misfortunes, and feel that little bit better about thier lives.

its called Shottenfroid (spelling?), its proven that people find pleasure from other's misfortune... which is why 80% of funniest home videos are someone getting hurt

this directly relates to why people constantly are cutting other peoples opinions down, or bullying, or making fun, to make others seem and feel inferior, and its all to make them feel better about themselves (pretty sad and almost a little sick when you think about it, but thats just the way the brain is wired i guess)

Well sometimes people don't laugh at others failures, they just don't know what else to do. Or sometimes they can be nervous.

well i once knew this guy and his mom would put his sister's and him down and make them cry and talk about how they suck at everything. She has a problem where she has no confidence and she gets enjoyment from other peoples failure because she isnt happy with her life its kinda sad but what i told them to do is just tell her how she is making them feel and tell her that she is a great person and she has done so much for them. People do it mostly because they are scared you might do better or they arent happy. Just ignore it some people are just sad.

I think some people laugh to avoid their own failures.  Kind of like an over-weight person laughing at someone heavier then them.

Some people laugh just because they think they are better then other people.

Others laugh just because they are with other people are doing it and it seems like they should "play along".

There can be many reasons none of them right.

People laugh at others failure beause, they also, been failed many times in same situations, they get relief by laughing, that they are not alone, who failed. It is a human nature.

some people laugh because they are so insecure that they have to keep building up their own self esteem by tearing others down. Other people laugh because they are really nervous and glad that people aren't noticing their own failures. Still other people laugh because they want to hurt someone deliberately.

Those who do so, do so because it makes them feel better about their own failures. When they cut others down, it makes them feel "bigger" about themselves. They're slugs. Ignore them!
