Why do people lean into the turn when they turn their cars??

Watch them man!! THey really get into it, its hilarious.....like a 180 lb guy is gonna help a 3000lb car out by leaning!!

  1. It's about your body's righting mechanisms.  Your body has to lean into the turn or your center of gravity gets out of line.  You can even pull a muscle if you don't shift your weight with the movement of the car.

    It's instinctive, innate.  Look at kids on a bus, they do the same thing.  So does your cat or dog in the back seat.


  2. So they have that since of complete control.

  3. They're just counteracting the momentum of the car, they're not trying to help it turn, they're just trying to stay upright.
