Why do people like ABC's LOST so much?

Uh, because it's awsome.

The survivors come from all walks of life, which appeals to a wide range of people.

The sense of adventure and excitement, which a lot of the shows are missing. (Clif Hangers at the end of every episode).

The fast forwards and the flashbacks.

I don't know! the episodes are so f extended, and i wanna cry when they put their pasts.

It is entertaining.  You feel for the characters thrown into a world of mysteries and terrors against their will.  It is like jail break, you are stuck somewhere but you want to get bake to your life before the adventure and fear.

Messes with your mind and keeps you in the dark.  

However... I've lost (no pun intended) my interest in the show because it doesn't seem to be going anywhere.
