Why do people like to have pit bull dog fights?

People who start and watch dog fights have tremendous mental/moral and ethical problems. Not to mention they are breaking the law!

Pit Bulls can probably be as loving as a cocker spaniel, but the people that raise and own them for fighting have given them a really bad reputation. It's SAD!

Because some people have sick minds and want to make money so they decide to do it with a dog and unfortunately pit bulls have been used in many dog fights so they have been given the bad name of being aggressive dogs.

Pit bulls and similar breeds have a very strong determination. They will do anything to please their owners. This is exactly what makes them the ambitiously lovable family dogs that they are, and should be.

But the scum of the world will take advantage of the beauty that nature produces. The main way people train dogs to fight is through encrouragement. These dogs are NOT supposed to be people-aggressive, but dog-aggressive. Their "owners" teach them that behaving aggressively to dogs is good, and reward them for this. I have actually watched a video of a dog fight on the news once, and you can see as the dogs are killing eachother and dying, their "owners" are praising them, and their tails are wagging when they hear the praise. The dogs just do what they are taught. They think they are doing a good thing, as they were taught. It is not their fault.

Often, because most of the people that fight dogs are unstable and more often than not connected to drugs, they will not do the "training" properly, and very often a dog will develop people aggression because it gets beaten by people. Simple as that. Not only pit bulls, but any dog that gets mistreated like this will be aggressive and "turn" on its owners.

If your daughter treats her just like a good dog, you will NEVER have a problem with aggression! Please remember that bad dogs have bad owners, and good dogs have good owners. :)

people like to have pits fight, because a pit bull and other bully breeds always want to finish what they've started. they will have the drive to kill if they aren't corrected/stopped.

Because their a--holes. Pit- bulls get a bad rap from people who make them fight. These poor dogs end up getting put down because of it. As long as your daughters dog was not raised by someone who made him or her fight i guess it should be o.k but i would be cautious. Ive heard even if they were raised in a loving home that they could still turn on you,its in their blood,but im not for sure. I would ask a vet.

No it ain't true, I think that it depends on how the dog is raised. Its the owners who make them bad dogs its also how they are bred, when your buying a pit you should look for one that ain't game bred. My friend and her husband just got 2 pits gave to them (brother/sister) they are really good with each other but the male that was gave to them don't like other dogs, he attacked her chihuahua and then went after her other pit. The guy that gave them to her told her that the male had never done anything like this before. She is now trying to give him away because she don't want him trying to hurt the other dogs, I told her that he was game bred and that they wont always acted like this with their siblings and that he could even act lie this with people he don't know. Now she has one pit that she keeps in the house and he is scared of everything, the biggest baby in the world, loves kids and minds really well. So like I said its not the dog its the dogs owners who are giving them bad names

No, it's not true that they turn on you.  They are very affectionate and loyal pets.

Most of the dogfights are staged by gang members.  They bet lots of money on them.  Having a ferocious dog is a status symbol among them, as a weapon and a macho power thing.  Some of the big time drug dealers in the city have the dogs as protection.  Michael Vick went back to his city roots, to the gang element.

Pitbulls are no more likely to turn on their owners then any other breed. The ban on pitbulls in some areas (such as Ontario, Canada) is ridiculous. Blame the owner not the breed,

2.As long as you treat the dog great has its young and don't mistreat it then they'll NEVER turn on you.They are actually great dogs but you do have to be good to them.
