Everyone seems to live life day in, and day out, doing the same boring things. Why don't people seem excitement more and find their own passions? Why would some people rather live their whole lives in a boring, but high paying job, rather than a job they truely enjoy?

This just doesn't make sense to me, because one day we're just going to die.

  1. Believe it or not some people just cannot believe that they could possibly ever enjoy a job.  I went to high school with a guy like this.  He wasn't really excited about what he was getting ready to go to college for.  When I asked him why he didn't go into a field he ENJOYED rather than something he thought would pay well (computer science) he said "No one likes their job".  He was looking at me like he felt sorry for me for being so naive.

Well, he went to school and hated the field he got into and the last time I heard anything about him he was stocking shelves in a grocery store.  I'm sure he is no happier doing that than he was doing computer science.  And because he thinks it isn't possible to love your work he doesn't see the need to aspire to something more.  Way to waste you parents' investment, dude!

  2. ur exactly right... we've just all been taught to be this way-- if we dont have money then how will we survive in this world

  3. because they don't know the purpose of life, and its not about passion and excitement that much either. its more like peace and happiness to me and excepting yourself.

  4. Oh, there're sober men in plenty,

    And drunkards barely twenty,

There are men of over ninety

That have never yet kissed a girl.

But gie me a ramblin' rover,

And fae Orkney down to Dover.

We will roam the country over

And together we'll face the world.

    There's many that feign enjoyment

    From merciless employment,

    Their ambition was this deployment

From the minute they left the school.

And they save and scrape and ponder

While the rest go out and squander,

See the world and rove and wander

And are happier as a rule.

I've roamed through all the nations

    Ta'en delight in all creation,

And I've tried a wee sensation

Where the company, did prove kind.

And when partin' was no pleasure,

    I've drunk another measure

To the good friends that were treasure

For they always are in our minds.

    If you're bent wi' arth-i-ritis,

    Your bowels have got colitis,

    You've gallopin' with bollockitis

And you're thinkin' it's time you died,

If you been a man of action,

Though you're lying there in traction,

    You will get some satisfaction

Thinkin', "Jesus, at least I tried."

  5. It always was and always will be this way.

And the answer is in your last phrase. Just some of them hope to run from the death.

  6. Do You Remember

Where were you when the sun crested over purple skies,

early morning love intense, or did you need disguise.

The realm of inner burn, with him you knew sweet peace.

Yet your spirit balked, until tides of love seemed to increase.

Do you remember that far off spot, where he won your heart,

making imprints in the earth, of two lovers no longer apart.

The sky made bright on that day, by souls bound now as one.

Do you remember the eternal glow you felt, upon the rising sun

Do you Remember????? :-). I do, xoxoxox Tom (c)

  7. people are just driven by different things --such as money. they will work so hard for the majority of their lives at a job that they dont even care about. people need to be passionate about what they do.

  8. I take it your the spokesperson for all the people you don't know. Go Figure.

  9. the way i see it - i need money to do the things i really enjoy - travel, esp. travel to see my family overseas in germany, and just support them. So therefore a high paying job = hapiness to me. oh yea and i nice car and all that...I'll take that too !

  10. My mother asked us the same things.  As children we would hold onto her calves with our might, thinking simple thoughts about what we wanted for dinner.  My mom wore flowered dresses that came to the knee, which is how we were able to grab hold of her calf.  Later, when we were in the five/six year old range, we only spent our time playing simple games aroundt the house, eating, sleeping, and visiting our cousins who lived in the back yard.  My mom always told us, "There's mroe to life than you are making it."  She smoked cigars outside while she watched the cousins play in our backyard.  We later learned that she was right.  Which is why we went to school at a college with four year degrees.

  11. Simple dude...

    Money.

Without, we can't even dream about our passions.

    I hate it.

    I'm one of those people.

Thats why I'm YA right now.

    lol.

My job is so boring, but it keeps food in my stomach.

It keeps a roof over my head, and it keeps me another day to live.

    Blows.

  12. It doesn't make sense to me either.  Aside from work...my husband never wants to do anything new.  I'm getting really frustrated with him, I'm thinking of just taking the kids where I want and not even telling him til we are about to walk out the door.  He throws a fit when we don't do things together, but I am tired of watching him watch TV all the friggen time.  So, yeah, it doesn't make sense to me either why people let their lives become so dang mudane.  What's the point of living?

  13. Actually when I die I will have a place to live that will be glorious, but to answer your question...

I have been thinking about this lately. I work a part time job because my real job is being a Mom. I love my Mom job but not quite sure why I work where I do outside of the house. I don't seem enjoy it much and I don't really feel too productive.

Life just goes by...you are a young wife and mother and then all of a sudden 20 yrs has gone by. I am in the process of finding something that will make me smile every day when I get up. It doesn't have to be easy work, but work that makes me feel like I've contributed and used my God-given talent.

    Have a great week!

  14. Because some people don't care that much about doing exciting things, some people really do not realize their own mortality, some people think all the good times are past them, some people are waiting for the fun times to start, some people only care about money. Making money can be a passion too. You sound like a true cheerleader, they could use you in a nursing home.

  15. some are actually happy with their jobs but just seem boring to others

yet some just dont care i guess

about what they do or how they live life

  16. I understand what you are saying but really that has nothing to do with you.  We all have choices and a life to make choices with.  So, even though it doesn't make sense to you - it's really irrelevent.  All you can do is make the best choices for your own life as you have no control over them or theirs.  Sad but it's true.  Just enjoy yours as best as you can! :)

  17. It annoys me too. Really stupid thinking about it.

But the truth is, when people start earning - bills and fees begin, and that drive for a goal is vanished with the thoughts of "how am I going to pay for the house?" and "The children's tuition fees!"

Instead, people stay in these jobs and these tedious lives for security.

Being in a secure home, with a nice car and other material things are what people think are gonna make them happy.

    It's sad really.

I'm friggin' sixteen years old and the world is at my finger tips, and I don't want my life to be like that at all. Sure it's good to be sensible and my mother always tells me that you can't do the things you want without money, but she's a fantastic artist who works at a job she hates, which I think is stupid because all those she spends at work could be used to be doing what she loves and be recognised for it! (She's really good!)

It's really sad thinking about it really, but what are we gonna do?
