Why do people love cleaning?

Question

I find myself wanting to clean an already clean house. This is a bit of a problem! I find myself somewhat OCD, but I'm able to control myself so I think I'm more of a neat freak. By why do people love to clean? I love having a clean house if that helps....

I'm the same way some what.I clean obsessively when I'm stressed out or bored.I raised my children to clean while talking on the phone,or while upset trying to sort things out in their head.It's easier to clean while your mentally pre-occupied as it's done mechanically.I take pride in my home and everything that I own.We're not sick as often as others(with messy/dirty houses).I like being able to have people drop in at any time without worring what my home looks like.I also know that my house is safe for my grand children at any given moment.

They just really appreciate a clean environment. People clean when they're angry or stressed or otherwise need to be distracted. I watch How Clean is Your House on BBC and it makes me want to clean because it will make me feel healthier. I like to clean mirrors or things that become shiny when cleaned. It just makes me happy!

I think because they are crazy and have nothing to do my steph dad is the same way. it's weird.

I like cleaning because then I have the peace of mind that everything is CLEAN. It makes me feel as though I'm getting rid of  bad germs (if I'm using a disinfectant or scrubbing something) which makes me feel very happy and accomplished.  After cleaning I feel much calmer, knowing that there I have gotten rid of germs that have the potential to cause illness.

   And vacuuming is incredibly fun!
