Why do people make fun of special ed kids

why do people make fun of special ed kids I'm one of them but I'm not retarded i mean its wrong everyone should be treated the same

You know what? I work with "special ed" kids. Most of them don't even know what that means, much less the "regular" kids. Special Education children can be anything from physically handicapped, mildly retarded, ADD, autistic, or simply have a learning disability. Some of the smartest children I know are in special education. In many cases it has nothing to do with smarts, but instead with how you learn.

It is wrong for other "regular" kids to make fun of the others. They're not any better for doing this. I've noticed that many who are not in special education need to be because they could benefit from the extra help.

Some kids make fun of others because of poor self-esteem or sometimes because their older siblings make fun of them at home. Everyone needs to be educated about special education, you tell them what it means! :)

yeah thats true why do they make fun of them i mean all  they NEED is HELP thats no reason to tease probably they think they are the best or something

Short answer...People who bully others do so to elevate themselves, to feel better about themselves, more superior. Many times bullies come from families where they are either bullied or not valued. Special Ed  students are just easier targets for bullies to get their payoff.
