Why do people make psi balls?

I just read a question about how to make them and it sparked something. It said that they will dissapate if you are making one just for fun so why WOULD you make one?

I would imagine just to say that you could, or for the satisfaction that you accomplished something, or to catch a glimpse into the power of the paranormal realm.

Unfortunately, there's no reason to think that psi balls (or "chi balls" or "qi balls") are anything but imagination at work.

I prefer pixie dust.  Its just as real, and can make you fly if you think happy thoughts.
