Honestly... they kill it! If I see one more person say thanx or plz I will actually die. Why do people find it necessary to cut out one or two letters?

"The problem with defending the purity of the English language is that English is about as pure as a cribhouse wh*re. We don't just borrow words; on occasion, English has pursued other languages down alleyways to beat them unconscious and rifle their pockets for new vocabulary."

  5. This should be addressed to Americans as they butcher the english language everyday.

  6. i guess people feel like cutting letters saves them time and energy (i suppose if you IM or text a lot, it adds up). i don't know that i hate it as much as you do, but i do think that it looks overly casual and unprofessional; the only time i do it is if i'm sending a text message on my phone and i need to cut just a few characters so the message doesn't run over the allotted space & cost me extra money.

what really drives me nuts (since we're talking about mutilating the english language) is when people don't take the time to learn about, or double-check, simple spelling and grammar. i guess it sounds s****., but stuff like "your" for "you're" really gets under my skin!!

  7. i think your getting the English language mixed up with chatspeak, my friend.
