i hear the crying -- but not from Brett-- from the people that don't quite understand what it means to from going to "hero status" to not being welcomed with open arms. The man wanted to play, and has earned the right to do so. He has given a 100 percent each of his 16 seasons with Green Bay-- so management decides to move on and go with aaron rodgers- fine where is the problem of allowing him to go somewhere where he'll be appreciated once again? It's not easy to find a sports icon that has earned his salary both on and off the field---- oh sorry about the moron comment in the last posting. just because people don't put a lot of thought into their responses, doesn't make them morons.

  1. Brett retired. Green Bay made a commitment to Aaron. You have to respect Green Bay for sticking to their commitment but they should have let Brett go sooner AND TO THE BUCS! Man that just pisses me off that he went to the Jets!

  2. i totally agree with you...packers management made themselves look very foolish by saying they were committed to aaron rodgers, and then pulling this open competition bullshit on him, we all know who would have won if it really was an open competition...the one guy i feel bad for the most in all this is aaron, i would have asked for a trade a while ago if i were him

  3. I think you're right, even Chad Pennington has to be better off whenever he lands somewhere where he is really wanted.

  4. This problem goes back way farther than anyone is pointing out.  Brett has been talking retirement for a while... not because he is tired of playing but because he hasn't liked his coaches.  Look it up, he was pissed when the hired McCarthy, he wanted Mariucci.  He was pissed when they didn't go after Randy Moss.  McCarthy wants to slow the game down... not take big risks (Favre's style).  Favre just didn't fit the Packer's anymore.  He didn't want to leave the fans of Green Bay he wanted to leave the administration of of the organization.  He thought he could just retire and walk away but the guy is a competitor and still wants to play, he just can't take Green Bay anymore.  As for his time with the Jets... he will throw a ton of INT's guaranteed!  McCarthy reeling him in was the best thing for his career since his glory days.  He can't make all the throws and he has lost just as many games for his team and he has won for them.

    Just my thoughts!

  5. Brett retired. cried at the podium. all that. was asked a bunch of times. are you coming out of retirement. says no. green bay says. Aaron Rodgers your our guy. 2 weeks b4 training camp Farve says i want to play. would it be fair to Aaron to say sorry, you are sitting, Brett is back. i say no. I have to give kudos to Green Bay for handling this situation like they did. I have to say Brett shouldnt of done what he did. i think Brett was totally wrong for putting GB on the spot like that. BAD BRETT!

  6. Football fans are, by definition, ingrates.  Yeah, myelf included.  Brett was, WAS, a super star.  But now, he's afraid of being hit, never goes in for that extra yards like he used to do, etc., etc., etc.

Understand perfectly well he still wants to play ($$)... but why???  He wants to be remembered as the stiff coward he has turned himself into?
