  1. Because some people seem to be under the mistaken belief that their headlights are there solely to enable them to see in poor light conditions. If they can see OK, they don't switch them on even though other road users may not be able to see them. Conversely, some drivers have their headlights at full beam and don't dip them when a car is approaching from the opposite direction.

Either way, it is a total disregard for others. Pure selfishness.

  2. CAUSE SHE IS STUPID DUH!!!

  3. They are not "drivers"

They are people who get into cars and press pedals and turn the steering wheel and arrive at their destination by the skills of  proper drivers who have to avoid them.

Women are the worse but not on their own by any means!

  4. If you see the person with no headlights on, flash your lights.

Some people are stupid all of the time. Most of us are stupid occasionally.

  5. pure stupidity i guess

  6. I think its when people set off from a well lit environment like a Petrol station forecourt you don't realise that you haven't turned you lights on until you either get flashed or cant see.

  7. like my driving teacher always says, "everyone on the road is your enemy, only you can trust yourself, and on the road everyone but yourself is the bad driver, so you've got to look out for yourself."

  8. There are several possible reason why.

1-a.  On today's cars, an electronic dash is illuminated when the car is running, so it can be seen day or night.  This can create an incorrect impression that a car's lights are on, even when they are off, because the dash is lit.  This can cause drivers to think their lights are on when they are not.

1-b.  Many cars have DRL (day running lights) with only the directionals (parking lights) lit.  When combined with electronic dashes, a drive maybe think their lights are on when they are actually off.

Too many drivers are simply unqualified to drive to start with and with all the well intentioned safety devices, such as DRL and/or electronic dashes, these people can't tell the difference when their lights are off or on.

  9. I agree with pnclements, I have noticed the newer Hondas are prone to this. When you start the car the dash lights up like a Christmas tree! This could lead the driver into thinking his/her lights are on! Then again some drivers just are too d**n stupid/lazy or indifferent! You would think it cost them money to turn their lights on!

  10. I think it is just SO stupid when people drive on only the side or parking lights.  They are only meant for use when the car is parked.  If you need lights on at all, then you need headlights on.  It's not as if it costs anything extra and won't flatten the battery as the engine is running and charging it.

I often see people with no lights on at all which is just plain daft in bad weather conditions, especially if the car is a dark colour.

I was taught to "see and be seen".

  11. i have no idea they do it in fog aswell

  12. In what?

  13. well there are some stupid people on the road,

but maybe she just forgot but that is no excuse if you are putting other peoples life in danger.

  14. I just think it is down to sheer laziness just like not turning the steering wheel enough to avoid cutting the lines when turning right into a T junction or X roads off the main road.

I saw a guy this morning with no lights on in FOG and his windscreen was still half frozen.

  15. I was wondering the same thing this morning...I think sometimes they forget to turn them on. This morning there was so much fog and the visibility was horrible and let me say the MAJORITY of drivers did NOT have their headlights on it was scary!!!!
