Why do people point to their wrist when asking for the time ?

LOL that does make a lot of sense, but I guess it would not be polite to point to your privates. I think it all has to do with being politically correct and not point at your crotch to  the bathroom.

Well, that would be a little disgusting if people did that....when someone points to their wrist, people usually know exactly what they are talking about....it just wouldnt be right if someone pointed to your crotch....funny though.*

when someone points at there wrist while asking a question they are normally giving out a subconscious piece of body language that is basically interpretable as 'i am a emo and if you don't do what i say i will cut my self and my pain will be all you fault.' Should this occur to you in a conversation, do not agree with the emo, they are already depressed and there death will be beneficial to human kind. Do not waist time and resources on a failed cause, once you have gone emo there is no going back

well the wrist thing is because most people wear watches on their wrists but i think pointing at your crotch could be implying 'other' things other than the bathroom
