I just do not get how people make these predictions. From what I have heard this has happened before a couple of years ago and the prediction did not come true. Where do people get this stuff? Is it true that the world will end on December 21 2012? Or is it just a lie to get every one frightened?

  1. Like Cindy said! COMPLETE BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  2. Nobody knows for sure, it's just some c**p the scientist pulled outta their ***. I'm pretty sure ,according to the bible (idk), that the world ending takes like a thousand years. Read Revelations because I haven't read it in a few years, so i do not know for sure if that is what it says, and I do not wish to change the word of G*d soooooo yeah!

  3. Do not worry.  Do not be scared.  I assure you that the world will not end on 2012 December 21 but it will end one day.  Nostradamus’ prediction of when the earth will end is far into the future, past about 3700.  He still has many prophecies that are not fulfilled yet.  Remember that if there is a beginning, there is an end.

The Mayan’s Mesoamerican Long Count calendar forms the basis for a New Age belief, first forecast by Jose Arguelles, that a cataclysm will take place on or about 2012 December 21 (Wikipedia).  It will be the end of a Mayan calendar cycle to start a new cycle.

In the book of Revelation, it tells us about a period of a thousand years of peace. Has this occurred already since the time of Jesus? Not yet. That will still come. Those that give predictions of the world’s end, such as 2012 and numerous times during the past, are pseudo-preachers. Have they talked to God directly? If so, give proofs.

But there is something that is certain—and that is our physical death. This is what we should prepare for. It may come when least expected. We do not know the day and the hour. It will come like a thief in the night. So we just have to be prepared all the time. Search for the true God and when we find Him, follow His commandments and remain in Him until our last dying breath.

This is all that we have to do. It is faith in the true God that we can take with us when we depart from this world. If we denied Him, He will deny us also before the Father in Heaven and send us to h**l. This is very scary – to live in h**l forever.  If we knew Him and loved Him and followed His commandments, then He may reward us to live with Him eternally in His kingdom in Heaven. This is the survival kit that we should have.

What is also certain to happen very soon (in about 2012 or earlier) is World War III and this is a nuclear war.  This calamitous war will start from the Philippines, at Spratly Islands in particular.  The Spratly Islands lie on the South China Sea mostly near the coast of the Philippines.  The Holy Spirit told us that the troubles in the Philippines is like the wick of a lamp.  Once the wick is lit, it will be on and aglow.  He told us about this prophecy more than a decade ago.  Please read what is happening in the Philippines now.  Spratly Islands which is being claimed wholly or partly by six countries including China is in the news and considered a tinderbox, a flash point.  It is very rich in oil and gas resources, more than the reserve of Kuwait.  The high price of oil may trigger the grabbing of these islands and start the war.

Four independent prophecies point to the certainty that this will happen.  These are Nostradamus’ prophecies to happen around this time (quatrains 6:24 and 2:62) , the 56th Chinese prophecy of Tuey Bei Tu (the past 55 prophecies have already been fulfilled), Revelation 9:18 of the Holy Bible, and those that the Holy Spirit revealed to us.  If you are interested in the details about these prophecies, please send me your request via email.

  4. well there's nothing that would make that true, but theres no way to prove it false either

  5. First of all, the actual date that the Mayan Calendar starts and finishes is disputed and refuted,

But let's assume that 12-12-2012 is generally the accurate date the 13th b'ak'tun will end.

"But the Mayans said nothing about anything beyond that date!!!"

No, they were aware of the 14th b'ak'tun.

In fact, the Mayans knew of previous cycles, (and ones to come)

as the Long Count calendar was actually sort of short for them, calendar wise.

They had different calendars to make up for this.

Now, assuming December 2012 is the end of anything even though it's unlikely,

the Mayans speak of 2012 as the beginning of a new golden age.

That doesn't sound so bad, does it?

The Mayans we're an amazing people, they made an amazing calendar, and their stargazing and solar mapping is awe inspiring.

But they never talk about "cataclysms" or "end times", it's all about rebirth baby, yeah baby yeah.

The guy behind the doomsday nonsense is José Argülles, he started this end of the world rubbish.

The Mayans did not predict the end of the world, José Argülles did!

So before you build a bomb shelter and buy a bunch of assault rifles, remember:

4772 October 12 AD (the non translated Mayan date that might be December 2012)

is not the end of anything friends, but maybe the beginning of something better, if you choose

to believe in any of this silliness.

    So it's win/win!

  6. It has to do with the end of the Mayan calendar and the return of quatzetcoatel (sp)

  7. Complete bs.  Someone made it up.  Remember when the world was supposed to end at the end of the millenium?  Well, guess what...we're still here! =)

  8. Nobody know for sure.

  9. I don't know why they do it, but they have been doing it every few years throughout history.  Some probably just like to scare people and some want to make money on phony stories.  There may even be some who believe the stuff they are shoveling.  I noticed one of the answerers said it is from scientists.  None of this is from scientists, except for Apophis and their initial warning, before finding out it wasn't going to hit us.  The current excuses are as follows:

The Mayan Calendar - Their calendar was done in ages or cycles and their years ended at the winter solstice.  The current cycle ends December 21, 2012.  They didn’t predict the end of the world, it was only the end of that cycle.  Their civilization died out several hundred years before the end of the cycle, so no new cycle was added.

Alignment with the Galactic Center – The alignment was supposed to be in 1998.  We will be 6 degrees off from true alignment in 2012.  Because the sun is one-half of a degree wide, it will take the December solstice sun 36 years to precess through the Galactic equator This happens every 26,000 years. The Earth has been through it 173,076 times and humans 7 times.

Polar shift – the poles are moving all the time and we don’t notice.  A complete 180 degree reversal occurs over a period of thousands of years.  The North Magnetic Pole is slowly drifting across the Canadian Arctic. The Geological Survey of Canada keeps track of this motion by periodically carrying out magnetic surveys to redetermine the Pole's location. The most recent survey, completed in May, 2001, determined an updated position for the Pole and established that it is moving approximately northwest at 40 km per year.  Although fast by geological standards, reversals are by no means quick on the human time scale. They take roughly 5,000 years, with estimates ranging from 1,000 years and 8,000 years.

Niburu (Planet X) - It doesn't exist. The Doomsayers predicted that it was to hit Earth in 2003. When it didn't show up, they just moved it out to 2012 to coincide with the end of the Mayan calendar.

Apophis (2004MN4) – A yellow alert for this asteroid (for the 2029 pass) was originally issued in 2001.  After more points were added to its orbit, they found it wasn't going to hit us and the alert was canceled.

And, get this, now we have a new one - the New Age people have come up with a photon belt to add to the mix.  Supposedly, there is a photon belt near the Pleiades that is going to wipe out life as we know it.  However, since photons are just units of light, they aren't too much of a threat.

"(1) No photon belt or other such region of increased energy has been discovered. Photons in any case are merely particles of electromagnetic energy, which we commonly experience as light. Upon exposure to excess photons the most common transformation of your being is sunburn.

    (2) There's no "anomaly" near the Pleiades star cluster. The Pleiades are surrounded by a nebula, or gas cloud. This cloud is composed not of photons but of dust and hydrogen gas.

    (3) The earth isn't heading toward the Pleiades but away from them. In the 1850s it was conjectured that the earth orbited the Pleiades, but this has long since been discredited.

    (4) Paul Otto Hesse is unknown to astronomers. Someone dug up a reference to a 1986 book by him in German whose title translates as "Judgment Day: A Book to Mankind That Speaks of Things to Come." 'Nuff said.

  10. The answer lies with the ancient culture of the Mayans. They based their calendar on a number of cycles, the largest of which was the ba'ak'tun. Their mythology stated that at the beginning of every 13th ba'ak'tun the gods had ended the current world and created a new one. They believed they were living the the Fourth World, the previous three having been failures that their gods destroyed each 13th ba'ak'tun. By calculating the ba'ak'tuns some scientists have determined that the start of the thirteenth ba'ak'tun of the fourth world would be on Dec. 21, 2012- according to legend, the day the gods might decide to destroy the fourth world and create a fifth.

Scholars argue however whether even the Mayans believed the world would end on this date, or if it was perhaps their cultural goal to last beyond the full cycle.

  11. Because they want to be noticed and respected by others who are easily duped.

Predictions of when the world will end have been made on a daily basis since the dawn of mankind but so far, none have come true, have they?   The world as we know it will end when our sun explodes, so forget about it and get some exercise to rid your body of fat and clear your mind for serious thinking.

  12. People always make these kinds of predictions. It sounds convincing because the date is 12212012. So far, these predictions have all been wrong.
