But dont protest against anything else that has risen in price? Is this some kind of joke ? Whats such the big deal about the price going up by only 2p per litre? If it was £2 then i would understand but i cant understand why people are protesting over such a small amount? This really cant effect the economy that much can it?

  1. First, your statement that "if we continue to pollute the atmosphere there won't be anything left to deliver".  A broad assumption I presume brought about by viewing Al Gore movies.  Global Warming has been thoroughly debunked and is only useful as a religion for Hollywood types and as a control mechanism for manipulative politicians.

High energy prices are a means of wealth transfer from the West's middle class to the global elite.  Do some research; there is no such thing as "peak oil".  Oil, as a growing number of geologists (especially Russian) will tell you, is not a finite resource.  The "peak oil" theory justifies massive increases in energy prices as well as facilitates gas shortages where they're politically advantageous.

Personally, I live in a rural area of the U.S. where there is no industry and no jobs.  I make a decent living traveling around the country as a consultant.  The industry that drives my income has been brought to it's knees by high gas prices, while my personal gas bill has doubled from $700 to $1,400 per month.  Add increased airline fares to my gas bill, and my net profit to live on is smaller each month.  When the U.S. economy fails, see how your own lifestyle fairs as a result, no matter where you live.

It costs $5 a barrel to bring up one barrell of oil from the Arabian desert, and $3 a barrel to bring it out of Prudhoe Bay in Alaska.  The World's elitist politicians and bankers are bringing Western civilization to a state of egalitarian poverty, while they are building their own paradise in Dubai.

  2. Because when fuel prices increase, the delivery companies and trucks that deliver food have to pay more to deliver food and stuff, then they charge more to deliver it, so supermarkets and companies have to increase their prices to make up for their loss of profits, so the whole economy gets worse.

  3. You are the most dangerous type of person.

You have NEVER questioned what you have been told about the environment.

Did you know the world has been COOLING since 1998???

I bet you didn't. Do you know why? Because you're one of those simple people who believe everything you're told without finding out whether it's true.

Also, you obviously don't drive, so my guess is that you're a student who has never worked, had children or had to pay bills, wash clothes or make dinner.

FYI, people don't always work in the same city they live. They need to drive. Buses and trains are TOO slow.

I find your comment that lazy people should walk 40-50 miles to work each day very naive.

What about people who drive for a living? Sales reps, truck drivers, area managers, etc.... should they walk as well!!!!

    Think and ask questions.

  4. they dont like it

  5. you are right about price but very wrong in everything else...1..you cant compare Europe/Brit. to USA...2..since ww2 the gas price in USA has encouraged people living farther and father from work.. most people now live too far from work where there is no public transportion....low gas prices have fostered waste and believe it or not raising mileage standards has caused a tax advantage in buying a big 5000 pound SUV..!! but fuel prices r not bad...[go ahead and yell} heres why

    in 1970 a house cost 10,000 dollars

in 2000 same house 250,000 dollars

a new chevy impala 3500 dollars

in 2007 same car 25,000 dollars

    in 1970 gas 50 cents

    today gas 4.00 dollars

  6. ordinary people don't need cars? are you extraordinary? or are you some guy that decided to ask the stupidest Q you can think of? why are people complaining

1 they don't like to pay more for the same thing that was cheaper

2 people work hard for their money  and like to spend it on things they want not things they need

3 our country is at war and we all assumed gas prices would go down because of that

4 we are just dumb like you insinuate and like to complain about nothing

    what else you wanna know?

  7. Well 2p extra a litre is a lot actually. If you drive you will know that it all adds up...

Yes it can effect the economy, what do you think the trucks that deliver everything you own run on? Food prices are going up for that reason. Electricity is supplied by burning fuels and so that goes up. Just about nearly everything depends on fuel and if it is going up in price it's a big deal! Count it out.

The world needs fuel and that is why it's such a big deal!

  8. Because everything goes up BECAUSE of the price of fuel. How many litres of fuel do you think it costs to fill up a huge lorry. Times that 2p by all the liters needed for that lorry and add it to the all ready huge price of fuel. Its a lot of money. One of the reasons food goes up is because of the fuel costs for farms and the transport to get to the shops. Have you not been about recently when the whole media has gone mad about the rising price of food and living in general? x x x x

  9. THey feel like it will do something somehow.  They are wrong though.  A gas staion owners went on a hunger strike and dies in a failed atempt to lower gas prices.

  10. For every 1p per litre increase in the price of fuel, the annual cost of running a 40 tonne lorry goes up by £419 per year.

2 years ago diesel was less than 90p a litre. Now its about 133p a litre.

The hauliers will soon be bankrupt, hauliers move food, and basically everything around the country.

You will be effected in the long run, all prices will eventually go up on everything you buy,

  11. Because we dont all make £50,000 a year! Familys, single people, OAP's, people with cancer...all these people WILL feel the effect! Ok so 2p a litre isn't much, but you work out how much more money your spending on fuel a year now! Its enough to treat the kids, or help treat cancer!

Fuel plays an extremly large part in life, it goes up, all other costs go up!

  12. gas is basically what we survive on and that amount does add up my dad had to pay $80 to fill up his truck that's bad people do it becuase they are mad and we have the righgt to in the bill of rights and the constitition

  13. You cannot be SERIOUS. You clearly do not buy much petrol, the price has risen by over 35p a litre and is still going up and if you think this does not affect prices your on the wrong planet.

  14. the people protesting are lorry drivers who's living are directly affected by fuel prices with many going out of business because of the high price. They are simply fighting for there survival you cant blame them really --------> :)
