Why do people put personal information on here???

...and then get upset when a bunch of bored, random, foreign strangers comment??? Especially if they hear something they don't want to hear...

If they don't want their personal business mocking, they shouldn't put it in the public domain...

  1. Because maybe they're in desperate need of some personal help, and would like to think that humanity hasn't sunk so low that it mocks those that need help. I dunno. -_-

  2. whilst I do agree with you, there are certain answers that can relate nothing to the question being asked, and people can get quite insulting or mean towards those asking the question.

I guess people ask things here that they might be embarrassed to ask in real life - they might not have anyone to talk to in real life - a number of things really.

    xx

  3. because people need to talk with somebody stupid

  4. goood point..

    1. to get attention

    2. they geniuenley want help but are too scared to look elswhere

i do reckon people should think before they write (on some questions) haha!!!

  5. Mainly because there young and naive.

  6. Couldn't agree more. If you don't like the answers don't ask the question is my motto.

  7. Quite true guess they don't expect people to say nasty things & didn't think they'd get offended but of course we do. Horrible people are everywhere including the net!.

  8. I think with some people it's a form of diary writing, but they are too lazy to write a diary proper.  Putting it instead in the form of an answer to a question brings it out, when otherwise there would just be writer's block.

Any love partner, psychologist or police officer knows that the truth is more likely to come out in response to a series of questions than just cold on a blank sheet of paper.

The risk is of course the ignorant, the judgemental, the stupid, the bigoted, the jerk, or most ominously the secret policeman scanning the internet for thought criminals for further surveillance.

The way to get round this is that everyone here is a character in a play, whether based on fact or fiction is immaterial, and any rude comments are never personal.

The most annoying people by far are the two narrow-minded members who report a good question or a good answer before someone who has taken a lot of time to draft a witty or well-considered response has had time to save it.  Report spam or filler answers or unrelated obscenities by all means, but simple nasty answers or something you profoundly disagree with should just get the thumbs-down.
