Why do people put pets on the streets

if people by animals and they hurt them then why do they by them

some people don't understand the responsibilities when they first get the pet the only thing they think is how cute the animal is then a little bit later they can't take of it or something comes up so instead of bringing it to an animal shelter they just leave the poor thing all alone.

Because it's just another facet of our throw away society.  People buy clothes, electronics, furniture....you name it.  When it either gets a bit worn, or the people tire of them, they just throw it away.  Never bother to just appreciate it for what it is since it's still useful.  Personally, I think it stinks.
